Missy’s Corner – Aug 30, 2026

In our eagerness to serve God, we can get bogged down in running out of time in a twenty-hour period. Just the desire to fulfill our daily devotions, giving of our time to help the helpless and to give hope to the hopeless, and praying for all those on our hearts and on our prayer lists gives God glory and He is pleased with us. In our culture, we are pushed to do more, give more, complete more goals, and in all of this rushing around, to take time for God and for ourselves. No wonder, we are mentally exhausted at the end of the day. If we take steps to slow down, as my spiritual director at Green Bough told me to do, those times of peace that come upon us in increments of moments when we least expect them, can recharge our souls based on the fact that God has given us peace. God desires the heart. We matter to God more than we know. Our busyness does not make our efforts more valuable than that of another. It sometimes takes our focus off of what is important: our faith in Christ and honoring him. In our devotion time, let God recharge us and take our weariness away, at least for a few moments. Let peace wash over us and strengthen us for the work ahead of us. Let us do everything to God’s glory.

In His Grasp,
Pastor Missy
