Growing up we had this magical barrier that covered everything inside the walls. It made everything look good and you dare not break it or the unknown would be let out. As I started working in maintenance one of my first lessons was it’s only Sheetrock. It’s made to be a barrier but it’s easily fixed. All my worries about something so simple. Same thing with salvation. Worship on Saturday or Sunday, baptism as infant or adult. You need to do deeds or not. It’s just Sheetrock.
As Christ was hanging on the cross one thief said you are the son of God and Jesus said this day you will be with me in paradise. He wasn’t baptized, probably didn’t go to church, he wasn’t a good person or went around doing good deeds. The wonderful news is God loves us. All we have to do is believe. It’s that simple. As we believe and follow Christ’s actions we do deeds and go to services. It’s just Sheetrock.
