Thank you for the wonderful cookies and lemonade welcome “On the Porch.” I love that meeting place for fellowship. My family and I really enjoyed time with each of you. Such a warm welcome means so much to a new pastor.
This week’s message is called “Spirit Life” and is based on Romans 8:1-11. How we live the Gospel Life means a lot to God, to the community and to ourselves as Christ-followers. The Church is still in the season of Pentecost. We are a Holy Spirit people, led from inside our hearts from the Third Person of the Trinity given as a gift from God in Christ. As a people of God, we were given the Spirit to form our hearts in such a way that we would know and respond to God as Abba, Father. We are to know God to be as close and approachable as we are to our own earthly fathers or father figures with whom we have good relationship. The way in which we live out our faith matters to us and to God. This week, think about how we can live out our faith in a way that honors God, giving Him glory for every good and perfect gift we have received from Him.
