2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness.” God provides us His grace when we are most vulnerable before Him. There are days when we are confident that we are pleasing to God, and days when we think we have failed to live into the holiness we seek to embody before God. At those times; we lean into His grace for us. That’s when He carries us because we are too weak to walk without the Father’s help. Our sinful nature hobbles us, but God, in His forgiveness supports us.
In Hebrews 10:25: “Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering; for He who has promised is faithful,” Paul paints a scene where we cling to God’s hand. We know we are walking toward our eternal home as we pass through dark valleys. God’s grip strengthens us and soothes our fears. The next step we take into glorious light, and we see clearly the road ahead. We want to quicken our steps, but God tells us to linger a while because there will be other shadows to come. This strengthens our resolve to live as Christ while we are still here.
